We are seeking a capable Consulting Data Architect to join our Insurance Technology Consulting practice and play a pivotal role in shaping, selling, and delivering data-led consulting engagements for insurance clients.
Location: London, United Kingdom (Hybrid)
Scope: UK-Based Role with Global Client & Delivery Remit
Reporting To: Head of Architecture Advisory, Insurance Technology Consulting
This role sits at the intersection of insurance consulting, data architecture and business development, requiring an individual who can influence propositions, engage credibly with senior client stakeholders, and lead the design and implementation of modern data solutions. The successful candidate will help insurers unlock the value of their data across the insurance value chain, supporting transformation initiatives spanning Underwriting, Claims, Pricing, Reserving, Capital Modelling, Risk & Finance Operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Shape Go to Market Propositions
- Contribute to evolution of our Insurance Technology Consulting propositions by embedding modern data, analytics & AI capabilities into market-facing solutions.
- Collaborate with Insurance and Technology Consulting leaders to develop differentiated data-led propositions.
- Apply emerging data capabilities to strengthen transformation outcomes across underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance, and risk functions.
- Contribute thought leadership and establish best practices for modern data platforms and operating models.
- Sell Consulting Engagements
- Support pre-sales activities by structuring compelling, commercially attractive, and pragmatic data solutions for insurance clients.
- Partner with clients and consulting teams to understand business challenges and define pragmatic data-centric solution approaches.
- Demonstrate knowledge of insurance processes and apply modern data capabilities to address business needs.
- Develop proposals, presentations, and solution narratives that clearly articulate business value and data transformation outcomes.
- Deliver Data Consulting Projects
- Lead the design and oversee implementation of modern data capabilities that deliver measurable business results for insurance clients.
- Define scalable target-state architectures, insurance data models, governance frameworks, and integration approaches aligned to business and technology objectives.
- Provide data architecture leadership across complex transformation programmes and guide engineering teams through successful implementation.
- Ensure solutions meet enterprise requirements for security, resilience, scalability, compliance, and operational excellence.

- Leadership & Commercial Acumen
- Proven experience leading the architecture and delivery of enterprise-scale data transformation programmes, translating business strategy into scalable, practical, and measurable outcomes.
- Demonstrated operating across the full lifecycle of proposition development, pre-sales, solution shaping, architecture leadership, and programme delivery within consulting, insurance technology, or transformation environments.
- Ability to engage and influence senior business, technology, and executive stakeholders, building trusted relationships and communicating complex concepts in terms of business value, outcomes, and return on investment.
- Strong commercial and operational awareness, balancing strategic ambition, implementation complexity, delivery risk, and value realisation to ensure successful programme outcomes.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and architecture decisions across complex transformation initiatives, applying modern data capabilities to solve insurance business challenges and deliver tangible value across underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance, and risk functions.
- Insurance Domain Knowledge
- Strong understanding of one or more of the following insurance domains: Underwriting, Claims, Pricing and Rating, Actuarial and Reserving, Capital Modelling, Finance and Regulatory Reporting.
- Candidates must be able to demonstrate how modern data platforms, governance, analytics, and AI capabilities can support decision-making and operational improvement within these domains.
- Data & Technology Expertise
- Data Infrastructure & Platform Architecture – Strong understanding of modern cloud-native data platforms; including data lakes, Lakehouse, data warehouses, integration patterns, and API-led architectures. Experience designing scalable and secure enterprise data platforms using technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Databricks, and Snowflake.
- Data Management, Governance & Controls – Experience establishing data governance frameworks, operating models, metadata management, lineage, cataloguing, data quality, and master data management capabilities. Familiarity with governance and compliance tooling such as Microsoft Purview, Profisee, Informatica and Collibra.
- Data Modelling & Information Architecture – Strong knowledge of enterprise data modelling, information architecture, and data design principles, with the ability to align logical and physical data structures to business, operational, and regulatory requirements. Proficient in SQL and data modelling tools.
- Analytics & Business Intelligence – Experience enabling reporting, analytics, and decision-support capabilities that drive business outcomes across insurance functions. Ability to design architectures that support self-service analytics, management information, and performance reporting using platforms such as Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and Snowflake.
- AI & Advanced Data Capabilities – Understanding of emerging Artificial Intelligence & ML Ops platforms. Experience designing architectures that enable trusted, governed, and scalable AI adoption, underpinned by strong data foundations using platforms such as Azure AI Foundry, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS Bedrock, GCP Vertex etc.
