A role in Insurance Consulting is stimulating, challenging, exciting and extremely rewarding. We require candidates who are technically and mathematically minded, with the ability to solve intricate problems using innovative and proportionate approaches. As consultants, it is not enough to have the technical skillset. The ability to communicate complex concepts to audiences from a variety of backgrounds is fundamental. We deal with actuaries, accountants, senior executives and other Board members. Each audience has different needs and knowledge and so we need to tailor our communications to suit.

We are looking for candidates that are excellent in their field and can apply their skillsets to work with clients to support them in their strategy and objectives. As a project-based business, no two days are the same. You will be involved in regular project meetings which will help you to understand the overall project and where your work fits in as well as providing a space for you to report your progress and raise issues. Being able to communicate your technical work to others who may not be familiar or involved is the key foundation for every actuarial consultant.

Our work requires us to work closely with our other offices throughout Europe and around the world. You will gain exposure to various companies across the entire insurance market ranging from small domestic companies to larger multinational insurers. Depending on the project and client you may also get involved in communicating with peers at the client's office, working directly alongside clients and attending meetings/calls.

Main Role Responsibilities:
  • Provide actuarial consulting to clients on a broad range of topics including:
  • Supporting clients in all aspects of actuarial work including financial reporting, solvency reporting, capital management and product pricing.
  • Corporate restructuring and capital enhancement (demutualisation, securitisation and M&A).
  • Working with Heads of Actuarial Function and Chief Risk Officers in meeting business and regulatory requirements relating to these roles.
  • Performance in areas related to financial risk, product distribution and capital issues.
  • Enterprise Risk Management to manage risks and meet strategic objectives.
  • Conduct reporting on regulatory (Solvency II) and accounting bases.
  • Prepare reports for Board of Managements.
  • Assist in risk monitoring.
  • Analyse and communicate results to key stakeholders.
  • Complete other ad-hoc projects as they arise.
  • Attend WTW-organised client events.
