As Head of Growth for Hull, P&I and Shipyards, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic expansion across both the Hull, P&I and Builder's Risks segments. Sitting within the Hull team and reporting to the Head of Shipowners, you will be responsible for identifying and converting new business opportunities, deepening client relationships, and enhancing our market presence across global shipowners and marine construction clients. This role requires a blend of commercial acumen, technical expertise, and leadership to shape and execute a growth strategy aligned with the broader divisional objectives.
The Role:
- Client & Market development: Build and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, shipyards and marine construction stakeholders globally. Act as a strategic partner to clients, understanding their evolving risk profiles and delivering tailored insurance solutions. Represent the Hull, P&I and Builders Risks & Shipyards team in market-facing activities, including client meetings, industry events, and broker engagement.
- Growth Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement a targeted growth plan for both Hull and P&I risks, aligned with the division's strategic goals. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including cross-sell and up-sell initiatives across marine segments. Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic positioning.
- Technical & Commercial Leadership: Provide expert input on policy structuring, pricing, and placement strategies for shipowner and builders risks. Collaborate with underwriters and brokers to ensure optimal programme design and delivery. Support the Head of Shipowners in aligning growth across these segments with broader portfolio objectives.
- Shipping Risk Focus: Develop a portfolio of Shipping clients across Hull, P&I and Builders Risks. Provide technical guidance on contractual review and coverage tailoring for marine clients. Lead the development of innovative insurance solutions for complex marine clients.
- Team Collaboration & Development: Work closely with colleagues across the Hull and Marine divisions to share insights and drive best practices. Contribute to the development of junior team members through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
