The Business Development Manager (BDM) will play a key role in expanding the company’s market presence across the UK and international regions. The role requires a commercially driven professional experienced in identifying new business opportunities, building strategic client relationships, and driving revenue growth within technical and engineering-focused industries.
Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities aligned with the company’s service offerings.
- Create and implement strategic business development plans to support market expansion.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitor activities, and new sector opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and industry partners.
- Lead sales presentations, proposal development, and tender submissions.
- Serve as a key commercial contact between clients and internal teams.
- Work closely with engineering, project management, and commercial teams to align project solutions with client needs.
- Contribute to the development of pricing strategies, project scopes, and bids.
- Maintain a structured pipeline of opportunities and deliver accurate forecasting.
- Prepare regular business development reports and performance updates.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (preferred).
- 5-10 years of business development experience in marine, offshore, oil & gas, renewables, or technical services industries.
- Experience in modular construction, technical buildings, HVAC, electrical, or refurbishment projects is an advantage.
- Strong track record in strategic sales, client relationship management, and closing technical service contracts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
