Key Role
To deliver service excellence to assigned import clients on a multimodal basis using expert knowledge of freight forwarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete all import operational responsibilities across all modes to allocated Imports clients and overseas agents with the highest level of service excellence.
- Actively negotiate with hauliers and partners ensuring best rates for our clients.
- Ensure all business is performed in the most cost-effective way.
- Proactively resolve customer supply chain queries within agreed time.
- Develop positive partnerships with clients, agents and suppliers.
- Proactively work with the Customer Excellence team to always ensure service excellence to clients.
- Escalate any business-critical matters to the Head of Operations.
- Put forward new ideas for efficiency and client service excellence to the Operations manager.
- Support the operational integration of new clients.
- Complete agent pricing as required accurately and within agreed timeframes.
- Ensure that all invoicing, profits, WIP’s and accruals are complete, in line with company policy.
Skills and Experience
- A comprehensive understanding and hands-on experience of client and operational requirements.
- Good understanding of Cargowise is a distinct advantage.
- Customs knowledge is desirable.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Competency in delivering operational excellence.
Location: Hybrid with 3 days at our Manchester Head Office.
