Key Role
To take day-to-day responsibility for WTA’s European road freight operations, ensuring accurate execution of shipments, effective supplier coordination, and reliable client service. This is a hands-on operator role, for transactional/admin tasks. The operator will complete and oversee work to ensure accuracy and compliance. The role is responsible for service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle daily road freight bookings, documentation and shipment coordination.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Be the operational contact point for clients and internal stakeholders on road freight matters.
- Liaise with hauliers, carriers and suppliers to arrange collections, deliveries and resolve service issues.
- Monitor service levels and escalate exceptions quickly to maintain smooth operations.
- Provide operational insights to support the Customer Excellence and Commercial teams, while retaining ownership of shipment execution.
- Contribute to reporting and service performance monitoring.
- Drive continuous improvement, working with IT and Process teams to simplify workflows, reduce manual effort and strengthen visibility.
Experience:
- Previous operational experience in UK/EU road freight (2 years minimum).
- Understanding of customs procedures (beneficial but not essential).
- Cargowise experience (beneficial but not essential).
Skills:
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments under pressure.
- Good communication and relationship skills with clients, hauliers and suppliers.
- Proactive problem solver with strong attention to detail.
Location: Hybrid with 3 days at our Manchester Head Office.
