Position Overview

With a proven track record in delivering major Aviation projects nationally, WT delivers innovative, data-driven solutions that support the growth and transformation of this critical sector. As part of this growth, the WT Sydney office continues to expand with high-profile new engagements landing and with existing major projects underway and more in the pipeline, we’re on the lookout for an expert in the Aviation sector to join the growing team, in either a Sector Lead or Commercial Manager role. Ideally, we're seeking candidates experienced in Aviation or similar project environments, skilled in delivering complex expansion and refurbishment projects in a live operational site, across large-scale program of works. This role will oversee the management of strategic guidance, procurement strategies and commercial management to ensure projects are financially sound and aligned with long-term operational goals.

Key responsibilities and management of:

  • Liaising with clients, architects and main contractors
  • Identifying and facilitating new business opportunities
  • Master-plan and feasibility budgets
  • Cost checking of developing design
  • Value engineering
  • Tender evaluations and analysis
  • Contract negotiations
  • Cash flow projects
  • Procurement
  • Cost reporting
  • Evaluation of variations
  • Final account reporting
  • Investment analysis
  • Formulating and implementing benchmarking processes to improve the consistency, accuracy and time to prepare cost models and plans

About you:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in any of the following areas: Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • Experience working with and supporting Directors
  • Highly motivated with a passion for delivering excellence to clients
  • Excellent communication skills
  • RICS / AIQS accredited candidates will be highly regarded
  • Proficient in the use of Cost X
  • A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from conception, through to completion and post-project review
