Job Overview
This is a rare opportunity to join the team behind one of the world’s fastest-growing global sports. World Snooker Tour is looking for a creative, motivated and adaptable Social and Digital Media Officer to join our Media & Content team, based in Clifton, Bristol.
You’ll play a key role in how we connect with millions of fans worldwide — producing compelling content, supporting our live coverage, and contributing to the continued growth of our sport across all major digital platforms, including our official OTT platform, WST Play.
We’re a small and versatile team, and we value proactive people who are happy to roll up their sleeves and support across a wide range of tasks — especially during live tournaments. But this is also a role where you’ll be supported to grow. Whether your core background is in editing, presenting, writing or design, we’ll help develop your skills and confidence across all areas of digital media.
The position involves regular travel to UK and international events — including the World Championship, The Masters, and tournaments in Europe, China and the Middle East.
Key Responsibilities
- Create engaging short-form video and social content for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
- Interview players and help create compelling, player-led content across a range of formats — including fun features, behind-the-scenes clips, and short-form storytelling
- Assist in managing WST’s official social media channels: TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn and YouTube
- Support in managing and programming content on WST Play, our direct-to-fan OTT platform
- Edit video content for web and social — including match clips, interviews, and digital-first features
- Present and appear in short-form content as needed (e.g. fan features, behind-the-scenes tours, light-touch explainers)
- Capture live content using smartphones and digital cameras, especially during major events
- Write engaging captions, player-focused stories, and occasional match reports for the WST website and app
- Help create or adapt graphics using Photoshop or similar tools (training provided)
- Support broader media operations during live events — including press duties, player content capture, and more
- Bring creative ideas to brainstorms and campaign planning sessions
What We’re Looking For
- A genuine passion for sport and digital storytelling — expert snooker knowledge is a bonus, not essential, but you must at least have a basic knowledge of the sport and its biggest stars
- A strong understanding of how different social platforms work and what content performs best
- Video editing experience (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut, or similar)
- Experience using digital cameras and lighting setups to film content at events — or a strong willingness to learn. This is an important part of the role, and training will be provided if you're not yet confident.
- Comfortable filming with smartphones
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Enthusiastic, collaborative and flexible — happy to help where needed across a small team
- Willing to work evenings and weekends during events, including travel within the UK and internationally
- A willingness to learn and develop new skills across video, design, writing and social strategy
- Experience working in sport — particularly for a club, governing body, or creative media agency — is a big advantage
- Experience working directly with elite athletes or high-profile personalities is also highly beneficial
- Experience creating content in fast-paced, live, or event-based environments
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience working on or producing podcasts
- Familiarity with OTT platforms or fan-first video services
- Basic understanding of CMS systems and video publishing workflows
- Design experience (Photoshop, Canva, After Effects, etc.)
What We Offer
- A full-time role in a collaborative, fast-moving team environment
- A unique chance to work at the heart of a global sporting organisation
- Ongoing training and upskilling across content production, design and strategy
- Regular travel to major World Snooker Tour events, including overseas tournaments
- Office base in Clifton, Bristol
- Salary of £25,000 per annum, plus a discretionary annual bonus
