Sporting Jobs is delighted to be working exclusively with World Snooker Tour (WST), searching for a driven, new business-focused Commercial Manager to join their expanding commercial team as they accelerate international growth.

About WST

WST is the commercial arm of professional snooker, responsible for growing and protecting the commercial value of the sport worldwide. Following a period of significant investment and change, WST is scaling its commercial operation, extending its international reach and deepening its relationships with brand partners across a wide range of sectors.

Working at WST

Colleagues describe a fast-moving, close-knit commercial team where people are given real ownership from day one. Curiosity, pace and a genuine enjoyment of the work are all valued, backed by a culture where colleagues look out for one another as much as they look out for results. If you’d rather build things than maintain them, you’ll feel at home.

The Role

This role sits within WST's commercial team, reporting into senior leadership, with a single guiding purpose: generating new partnership revenue for WST. You’ll build and manage a pipeline of prospective brand partners, and work closely with colleagues across marketing, data and insights, media and partner services to bring an insight-led, compelling commercial proposition to market.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Meet and exceed agreed annual sales targets through the recruitment of new, high-value partnerships.
  • Own the full sales cycle for prospects - from first approach through to a signed agreement and a clean handover to the Partner Services team.
  • Identify, research and qualify new partnership targets across a broad range of brand categories and industries.
  • Build and run structured outreach campaigns, maintaining a consistently strong pipeline across current and upcoming seasons.
  • Take ownership of your own pipeline within WST's CRM, with clear activity tracking, revenue forecasting and consistent reporting.
  • Support the development of the positioning, content and messaging of WST's commercial proposition.
  • Develop tailored, insight-led partnership packages that create genuine value for both WST and the brand.
  • Support commercial negotiations, working with internal stakeholders and legal to ensure deals are commercially sound.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of market, category and sponsorship trends, sharing relevant findings with the wider team.
  • Represent WST at industry events while building a personal network of brand and agency contacts.

What We’re Looking For

Experience

  • A minimum of 3-4 years' experience in sponsorship sales within sport or entertainment.
  • Demonstrable experience contributing to the delivery of partnership revenue.
  • Experience prospecting and running outreach campaigns that generate new conversations.
  • Familiarity with sponsorship contracts and how effective partnership programmes work in practice.

Knowledge

  • Understanding of the wider sports and entertainment market and the commercial revenue sources of global rights holders.
  • Understanding of how commercial rights can be packaged and leveraged to deliver against a brand's objectives.
  • Knowledge of snooker is a bonus, but a genuine willingness to embrace the sport is essential.

Skills and Aptitude

  • Dynamic and energetic, with an appetite for new business and the resilience to sustain momentum through an extended sales cycle.
  • A consultative approach to sales, with the persistence and determination to progress opportunities to conclusion.
  • A strong communicator and excellent relationship builder.
  • Highly organised, with excellent planning skills and strong attention to detail.
  • An entrepreneurial and proactive mindset, with the confidence to generate ideas and act on them.
  • A collaborative team player, equally comfortable working independently.
  • Flexible and adaptable within a fast-paced working environment.
  • A personal ambition to learn and develop, with enthusiasm for working in a growth environment.
  • Competent using CRM tools to manage pipeline, activity and reporting, and proficient in Microsoft Office.

Package

  • Permanent, full-time role.
  • Salary of up to £40,000 pa, with a structured commission scheme.
  • Based in London (Waterloo). Travel will be required, with reasonable notice.

We’re Also Recruiting

Sporting Jobs is also recruiting, on behalf of WST, for a Partnership Services Manager focused on existing partner relationships, and a Commercial Executive to join the wider team - a great opportunity for someone earlier in their career. If either sounds like a better fit for you, or for someone you know, we’d love an introduction.
