We are seeking an exceptional Senior Technology Specialist to join our London technology team.

This is not a traditional IT support role.

You will serve as a trusted technology partner to our investment professionals, executives, and business teams - providing hands‑on support across a modern and evolving technology stack that spans cloud infrastructure, the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, and a growing suite of AI‑powered tools.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge with outstanding interpersonal skills.

In our environment, the ability to calmly and effectively support senior stakeholders under pressure is just as important as technical expertise.

You will be a visible, go‑to resource across the London office, and your work will directly impact the productivity and effectiveness of the firm.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide responsive, white‑glove technology support to all London‑based team members, including investment professionals and senior executives.

Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues with minimal disruption.

Manage endpoint devices including laptops, mobile devices, and conference room technology.

Serve as the primary on‑site technology resource in the London office, coordinating with the broader global technology team.

Administer and support the Microsoft 365 environment, including Teams, Share Point, One Drive, Exchange Online, and Intune.

Support cloud‑based infrastructure and Saa S applications used across the firm.

Assist with user provisioning, identity and access management, and security policy enforcement.

Monitor and maintain system health, patching, and compliance across endpoints and cloud services.

Support the firm's growing adoption of AI tools, including platforms such as Claude Enterprise, Claude Code, Chat GPT, and other emerging technologies.

Help onboard users to new technology platforms and provide training and guidance as needed.

Stay current with developments in AI, automation, and productivity tools relevant to knowledge work in financial services.

Partner with the IT Manager on technology projects, upgrades, and strategic initiatives.

Contribute to the evaluation and implementation of new tools and platforms.

Document processes, maintain knowledge base articles, and help improve internal technology workflows.

Coordinate with external vendors and managed service providers as needed.

  • PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum of 7 years of hands‑on experience in a technology support or engineering role, ideally within financial services, professional services, or another demanding corporate environment.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft 365 administration and the broader Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and platforms is highly desirable, including Chat GPT and Claude (chat, Code and Cowork); a genuine enthusiasm for emerging technology is essential.
  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or equivalent), networking fundamentals, and modern endpoint management.
  • Experience supporting executive‑level users in a high‑touch, white‑glove environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e. g., Microsoft, Comp TIA, ITIL) are a plus but not required.
  • PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills — you are patient, approachable, and able to explain technical concepts clearly to non‑technical users.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑moving environment without sacrificing quality or professionalism.
  • Proactive and solutions‑oriented - you anticipate issues before they elevate and take ownership of problems from start to finish.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to doing things right.
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to go above and beyond, including occasional evening and weekend availability during critical business periods.

How to prepare for a job interview at WSS Associates

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

Know the Business Impact of IT Solutions

When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
