WSR is recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer for our reputable client in Northampton.
We are seeking a driven Manufacturing Engineer to play a key role in improving manufacturing performance, supporting new process implementation and driving continuous improvement across production operations. Working closely with operations, production and maintenance teams, you will be responsible for reviewing and optimising manufacturing processes, ensuring documentation is maintained and controlled, and supporting the successful introduction of process changes and improvements.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain and control manufacturing process documentation, including PFMEAs, control plans and work instructions.
- Evaluate existing production methods to ensure safety, efficiency, quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Support the introduction of new processes, equipment, tooling and fixtures through a structured change management approach.
- Deliver training and guidance to production teams on new processes and equipment.
- Monitor manufacturing performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Lead and support continuous improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen methodologies.
- Investigate production issues using structured problem-solving and root cause analysis techniques.
- Assist with tooling and fixture design requirements to improve productivity and quality.
- Work alongside maintenance teams to maximise equipment reliability and performance.
- Support project delivery, resource planning and capital expenditure activities.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production operations.
- Proven experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques.
- Skilled in data analysis and presenting findings to support decision-making.
- Familiar with manufacturing performance metrics such as OEE, TAKT, cycle times and cost-of-quality measures.
- Experience using problem-solving tools including FMEA, Kaizen, A3 and error-proofing methodologies.
- Six Sigma training and project management experience are highly desirable.
- Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Organised, self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
