WSR is recruiting for an IT Infrastructure Engineer for our esteemed client based in Manchester.

Manchester - Office based 4 days p/w, WFH 1 day p/w

Role Type: Permanent

Salary: Up to £45k per annum (depending on experience)

Overview: We're on the hunt for a talented IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our client’s vibrant, forward-thinking team! As our 3rd Line Service Desk Engineer, you'll be the ultimate technical guru — the go-to expert when things get tough.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a mentor and technical guide for Service Desk staff, supporting ticket resolution and promoting knowledge sharing.
  • Drive efficiency by formalising and enhancing day-to-day Service Desk processes and procedures.
  • Own and resolve 3rd Line support tickets with precision and speed.
  • Manage and deploy Azure services, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  • Oversee security across Azure, Entra, and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Handle software version control through tools like Intune, Microsoft Defender, and ManageEngine.
  • Step in to perform Service Desk duties when needed to maintain seamless support operations.
  • Maintain and manage backup systems to safeguard critical business data.

Technical Skills and Capabilities:

  • MS Windows Server: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy & Certificate Services, Updates, Performance Management.
  • Windows File Servers, NTFS, Nimble/Alletra FC/iSCSI, OSNexus.
  • VMWare: ESX 8.0+ Hosts, iSCSI Storage connectivity, Virtual Machines.
  • Microsoft Online Admin: Entra/M365, Exchange online, Teams, Sharepoint, etc.
  • Linux: Suse SLES 15, Ubuntu, Rocky, Centos.
  • WiFi: Allied Telesis WiFi networks.
  • Cabling: cat5e/6 cable runs and termination, Fibre cabling.
