At Panda, we value waste. That means finding smarter, safer and more sustainable ways to manage materials, protect our people and keep our operations running responsibly. We are looking for a SHEQ Coordinator to join our SHEQ team, supporting our operations across Widnes or Bromborough. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build their career in safety, health, environment and quality within a busy, hands-on operational environment.
As SHEQ Coordinator, you will work closely with the Regional SHEQ Manager and operational teams to help drive a culture where health, safety and environmental standards are never compromised. You will support reporting, investigations, documentation, audits, compliance checks and management systems, helping teams understand their responsibilities and take action where needed. This SHEQ Coordinator role would suit someone who is organised, confident, self-motivated and comfortable working with both site teams and management to improve safety and environmental performance.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the Regional SHEQ Manager in delivering SHEQ objectives across the business.
- Help drive SHEQ plans and activities to improve health, safety, environmental and quality performance.
- Ensure accidents, incidents, near misses and non-conformities are reported and investigated in line with company procedures.
- Maintain accident reports, incident files, investigation records, corrective actions and related SHEQ documentation.
- Produce monthly SHEQ reports covering health, safety and environmental performance.
- Build strong working relationships with operational leaders and site teams.
- Support the development and review of SHEQ documents, including risk assessments, safe systems of work and COSHH assessments.
- Help develop and maintain local management systems.
- Take responsibility for document control across management system records.
- Carry out and record environmental checks across operational sites.
- Organise external surveys and assessments where required, ensuring actions are recorded and followed up.
- Maintain contractor control records and ensure required documentation is kept up to date.
- Manage waste off-taker destination records and ensure supporting documents are maintained.
About You
We are looking for someone who is practical, organised and confident working in an operational environment. You will ideally have:
- Experience in a similar SHEQ, health and safety, environmental or compliance role.
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
- NEBOSH General Certificate, or a willingness to work towards this.
- Good Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Confidence communicating with operational teams and managers.
- A self-motivated approach and willingness to take ownership.
- A full driving licence.
Experience in waste management, recycling, manufacturing, logistics, industrial services or another operational environment would be beneficial, but we are open to considering relevant experience from other sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for a SHEQ Coordinator who wants to develop their experience, support meaningful change and play a key role in helping Panda maintain safe, compliant and responsible operations.
