A little more about your role… The Ecology team at WSP is a large, friendly and diverse team. We work collaboratively with experts in various fields across the UK providing extensive project experience and knowledge. Training and mentoring opportunities for everyone allowing you to grow your career.
Suppose you have a desire to develop your core ecological, project management and consultancy skills whilst also having the opportunity to influence the wider ecology industry. In that case, the WSP Ecology team is the place to do it.
Your New Role What’s Involved? Spending around 50% of your time with us in the field, your role will include:
- Assisting our ecologists with planning and undertaking ecology surveys including a wide range of protected species surveys and extended Phase 1 habitat /UK Hab surveys.
- Collating, analysing and presenting data including the use of biodiversity metrics to assess loss or gain in biodiversity units and bat sound analysis.
- Inputting into technical reports and other deliverables, such as licence method statements and management plans.
- Providing support with bid support, inputting into both costings and written proposals.
This role involves outdoor work, sometimes in remote locations, in all weathers with some requirement for evening work and staying away from home. At WSP we pride ourselves on supporting individuals and giving everyone the chance to shine.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate… An appropriate Degree in Ecology or a related discipline. Ideally, this would be a course accredited by the Chartered Institute of Ecology.
