A little more about your role… You will join our Project, Commercial and Programme Management team within Civil Infrastructure & Utilities, supporting the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects across the UK. Our work spans sectors including highways, rail and light rail, urban infrastructure, water, energy, flood risk, wind, carbon capture, nuclear, defence and large-scale utilities. You will be part of a growing national PMCM community of more than 400 project, commercial and programme management professionals. Together, we help clients take projects from concept through to completion, bringing structure, clarity and confidence to the management of scope, cost, schedule, risk, change and quality.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will work closely with clients, multidisciplinary teams and colleagues across WSP to plan, manage and deliver projects that make a real difference to communities and critical infrastructure. Depending on your experience, you may lead your own projects, support larger programmes, manage key workstreams or help develop more junior members of the team. You will have the opportunity to build strong client relationships, contribute to project strategy, manage commercial and contract requirements, support safe and high-quality delivery, and bring forward ideas that improve how we work. You will also be supported in your own development, whether that is through professional accreditation, chartership, technical learning, leadership development or broadening your experience across different sectors and clients.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
- Experience delivering infrastructure, utilities, civil engineering, construction or related projects in a project management role.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and client relationship skills.
- Good commercial awareness, including experience managing budgets, scope, risk, change and project performance.
- Experience working with, or an understanding of, NEC contracts, with NEC3 or NEC4 ECC experience beneficial.
- The ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, supporting collaboration, wellbeing, inclusion and high-quality delivery.
- A recognised project management qualification, or a willingness to work towards one, such as APM, PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent.
- Commitment to health, safety, quality, sustainability and continuous improvement.
