WSP, a leading engineering and professional services firm, is looking for an experienced Senior Consultant to support town planning and consenting inputs on major and nationally significant infrastructure projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting and taking responsibility for aspects of town planning and consenting on major infrastructure projects (e.g., DCOs, DNSs, TWAOs).
- Providing technical advice, coordinating the preparation and submission of consent applications.
- Supporting negotiations with statutory bodies and stakeholders.
- Engaging with multidisciplinary teams, supervising others, and contributing to project delivery.
- Understanding project and team roles and actively supporting and contributing to achievement.
- Proactively engaging with developing own knowledge and skills to build ability and team's internal knowledge base.
- Awareness of project finances and some project management experience, ideally within a consultancy environment.
Qualifications and experience:
- Degree level qualification in town planning (or equivalent).
- Member of (or eligible for) the RTPI.
- Demonstrable experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams to secure consent and approvals for major or nationally significant infrastructure projects via the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and the Planning Act 2008.
- Experience in securing consents for major projects under the Planning (Wales) Act 2015, Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act, Transport and Works Act Order or the Electricity Act.
