A Little More About Your Role… We’re a growing team and being part of WSP GL Hearn means that you will have the opportunity to work on some amazing projects. A big advantage of being a member of the Valuation team is the ability to work with different Directors on a variety of instructions across the country. You’ll get to build relationships with clients and internal teams, and promote the WSP GL Hearn Housing, Viability and Regeneration offer.

Using your valuation expertise, you will carry out valuations for affordable housing providers, local authorities and private clients to support the acquisition of land and new homes, help to aid internal decision making processes and to support disposals. The preparation of detailed valuation reports and recommendations in accordance with RICS guidelines. Building strong relationships with clients and developing your knowledge of what pressures they face so that you can offer tailored solutions. Providing robust viability advice to our clients is essential to support key business decisions, and in this role your advice will form part of a business case or support the delivery of new homes through the planning process.

You could be working on one of these projects:

  • Providing advice to a government department regarding the viability of major housing development in London;
  • Providing a red book valuation for the purchase of land in the south east to build 32 new affordable homes;
  • Producing an update to a red book report to support the disposal of shared ownership homes;
  • Producing a market review report to support the town centre regeneration of a town in the West Midlands.

You will be based in our Manchester First Street office which is conveniently located close to both Deansgate and Manchester Oxford Street stations. Your role will require regular travel to London and the South East.

What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate… Chartered Surveyor and Registered Valuer (we would consider candidates eligible for registration). Affordable housing valuation experience or an interest and willingness to develop skills in affordable housing valuation. Experience of using Argus Developer and completing financial appraisals. Excited to work on a variety of different projects within the Valuation team and into the wider business. A willingness to work with the Director to grow the Housing, Viability and Regeneration offer growing their skills and knowledge to progress to the next level.
