A little more about your role…
We’re a growing team and being part of WSP GL Hearn means that you will have the opportunity to work on some amazing projects. A big advantage of being a member of the Valuation team is the ability to work with different Directors on a variety of instructions across the country. You’ll get to build relationships with clients and internal teams, and promote the WSP GL Hearn Housing, Viability and Regeneration offer.
Do you have a degree? Have you worked for five years or more in the affordable housing sector in development or regeneration buying land or delivering new homes? Would you like to be supported through the APC process to become a Chartered Surveyor and Registered Valuer? We need people who are passionate about affordable housing to work in our Valuation team to complete red book and desktop valuations, provide development consultancy advice to our clients and complete development appraisals. We’ll be honest, affordable housing valuers are a bit niche and in short supply but we can easily teach you what you’ll need to learn to become qualified. What we are really looking for are people who have a thorough understanding of the affordable housing market and who know their way around an appraisal!
If you find this intriguing and want to find out more, please apply.
You could be working on one of these projects:
- Providing advice to a government department regarding the viability of major housing development in London;
- Providing a red book valuation for the purchase of land in the south east to build 32 new affordable homes;
- Producing an update to a red book report to support the disposal of shared ownership homes;
- Producing a market review report to support the town centre regeneration of a town in the West Midlands.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
- Eligible for registration to become a Chartered Surveyor and Registered Valuer
- Affordable housing experience in the development or regeneration field.
- Experience of using financial appraisal models e.g. Pamwin, Proval, Podplan.
- Excited to work on a variety of different projects within the Valuation team and into the wider business.
- A willingness to work with the Director to grow the Housing, Viability and Regeneration offer, growing their skills and knowledge to progress to the next level.
