Senior Project Manager (Lexica. Member of WSP)
Join us as a Senior Project Manager with WSP, leveraging Lexica’s expertise in health, life sciences, and education projects. From June 2025, Lexica will be a member of WSP (UK) Ltd and fully integrated by January 2026.

A Little More About Your Role
Senior Project/Programme Managers are responsible for managing the delivery and performance of capital infrastructure projects and programmes across all stages of the project life cycle.
- Manage activities and deliverables to ensure timely delivery of projects and programmes.
- Work with client teams, designers, consultants and contractors to deliver results.
- Partner with sponsors or business leads to establish a clear vision, purpose and scope for the project or programme.
- Define and implement delivery structures, phasing and resources to achieve business returns.
- Monitor finances, resources and activities within agreed parameters and tolerances.
- Identify, assess, mitigate and manage risks, issues and dependencies in accordance with industry standards.
- Lead and motivate delivery teams and stakeholders.
- Produce regular performance reports for senior decision‑makers.
- Support governance and decision‑making across the programme or project.
- Deliver health and life‑science projects and programmes of varying complexity.
- Serve as the key point of contact for clients and project teams.
- Apply recognised project‑management processes and procedures.
- Assist in building a high‑performing specialist consulting team.
- Maintain compliance with company values, financial instructions, good practice, legislation and standards.
- Ensure commission execution plans are updated and fees are managed to meet targets.
What We Will Be Looking For
- Demonstrated experience as a Lead Project or Programme Manager.
- Senior project/programme management experience in complex environments, preferably in construction, consultancy, health or life science roles.
- Strong presentation skills for programme and project board meetings.
- Experience with procurement methods and contract strategies, ideally NEC 3 or 4.
- Knowledge of NHS Capital Investment Manual, RIBA Plan of Work, OGC Gateways or similar frameworks.
- Ability to engage diverse stakeholder groups at all seniority levels.
- Good working knowledge of the public sector and healthcare or life‑sciences projects.
- Understanding of capital and procurement protocols.
- Excellent communication, facilitation and formal report‑writing skills.
- Degree or equivalent level of education in a relevant field.
- Membership of a chartered institute in the construction industry (e.g. RICS, CIBSE, CIOB, APM, MICE).
- Recognised project/programme management qualifications or chartership (e.g. APM PMQ, Managing Successful Programmes, NEC PM accreditation, MRICs or ChPP).
