Senior Environmental (EIA) Consultant – London & South East WSP invites you to join our Environmental Management and Assessment Team in London and the South East. This senior level role supports a diverse portfolio of projects across energy, aviation, nuclear, rail, property and local government.As a Senior EIA Consultant, you will manage environmental inputs throughout the project lifecycle – from concept and option stages to construction and handover – working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable outcomes.Key Responsibilities Provide environmental advice and support to clients, project managers and colleagues.Collaborate with environmental specialists, clients and engineering teams to promote sustainable design and environmental enhancement.Manage delivery of environmental inputs, including EIA screening requests, scoping reports, environmental constraint studies, environmental management plans and Environmental Statements.Oversee project performance on technical, quality, commercial and health and safety aspects.Build relationships with clients and identify opportunities to provide support in resourcing, programming, strategy development and project delivery.Secure new work through proposals, bid preparation and business development activities.Support development of innovative techniques such as Digital EIA, Technical Excellence and Future Ready EIA.Mentor junior colleagues and promote an inclusive workplace.Contribute to WSP business strategy and maintain self‐motivation towards role, team and projects.Qualifications and Experience Relevant environmental degree in EIA or similar.Achieved or working towards Chartered Environmental Status and full membership of IEMA or similar professional body.Experience of EIA processes, working independently within multidisciplinary teams.Knowledge of relevant environmental and planning legislation.Post‐qualified experience of coordinating environmental assessments across diverse projects.Understanding of project management activities, including commercial, risk, forecasting and quality assurance.Experience in business winning and bid preparation.Strong verbal and written communication skills, including detailed report writing.Demonstrated promotion of a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture.What\’s In It For You Work‐life balance, hybrid working, inclusivity, health & wellbeing benefits and opportunities for development.Equal Opportunity StatementWSP is an equal opportunity employer.
