Role

A Little More About Your Role… An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Architect to become an integral part of our expanding Architectural team at ESA Architecture. You will be a qualified Architect who supports concept, planning and the technical design of construction projects in a range of sectors. This will include developing the project design, production of presentation drawings and sketches. You will also assist in solving design and technical complexities and the preparation of accurate information for construction. You will be responsible for leading specific aspects of the project and project team to assist in the overall effort of completing the various phases of the project ensuring, that we always deliver service excellence to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Under direction of the Project Lead or a more senior project leader, you will develop, modify, and review models and drawings ensuring the incorporation of design intent.
  • Duties may include the development and implementation of project design concepts, project modelling, developing sketches, conducting research and data collection, preparing presentations and reports, and general production of coordinated design and construction documents including specifications.
  • Work on multiple projects, in innovative ways that may explore methods of achieving design solutions, completing tasks within established deadlines and budgets, and effectively utilizing resources to address project requirements.
  • Interact with clients and internal and external consultants, participating on project development, and present ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Prepare, manage, and modify architectural documents, plans, elevations, sections, and details, as directed by others in the project team, following standards.
  • Develop solutions to technical and design problems following established design standards and with attention to detail, efficiency and quality.
  • May assist in the development of project scope, plans, and services during the contract process.
  • Prepare 2D and 3D presentations, models, design drawings and renderings.
  • Perform product research and may assist Project Designers and Project Architects with materials selection and system research.
  • Incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects, always considering the impact our projects have on the wider world.

What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate

  • People Management
  • Able to manage junior colleagues and provide guidance and support where necessary.
  • Manage design tasks and deliverables and report on progress against the design programme to the project lead. Report on the progress and risks associated with the project and programme.
  • Follow company values and exhibit appropriate behaviours.
  • Manage time efficiently and assist / input into team meetings to review design programme.
  • Business & Financial
  • Support the Project Lead in developing the project execution plan, including financial planning, and forecasting resource.
  • Input on the project programming and financial planning.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the construction / architectural industry.
  • Must be a qualified Architect.
  • Understanding of UK Building Regulations and relevant technical design guidance and standards.
  • Working capability and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Proficiency in creating visualisations would be advantageous but not essential.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Technical design knowledge / skills in UK construction methodology.
  • Experience of working autonomously at times, and as part of an architectural design team, managing and delivering Tender and Construction Stage works packages.
  • Have worked across industry sectors with demonstrable experience.
  • Have an ability to communicate technical detail graphically and effectively to both colleagues and client teams.
  • Experience of working in Common Data Environments (CDE)
  • Must be able to obtain UK vetting level of Security Check (SC)
