Your new role, what's involved?
- Based within WSP’s Edinburgh and Glasgow offices, working as part of the UK-wide Surveying Services team alongside the Buried Services Surveying, UAV and Measured Building Surveys.
- Lead the successful delivery of surveying projects across Scotland and the wider UK, ensuring technical excellence and client satisfaction.
- Support the Scotland Team Lead in managing team performance, workload planning, project delivery and business development activities across Scotland.
- Support business growth through bid management, proposal writing, client engagement and the promotion of WSP’s surveying capabilities.
- Undertake and supervise land and engineering surveys in accordance with project briefs, specifications and industry standards.
- Process, review and quality assure survey deliverables, ensuring full compliance with WSP procedures, technical standards and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and integrated surveying solutions.
- Mentor, coach, and develop junior team members, supporting their technical progression and professional development.
Your Team Surveying Services (UK)
- Working within a team of 48 Surveyors based UK wide, consisting of Topographical, Measured Building & Buried Services Surveyors and UAV Pilots.
- Working mainly on surveying projects UK wide.
- Varied client base from Local Authorities to Multi-Discipline Consultants.
- Reporting to the survey team lead.
- Hardworking Surveying Services promote the power of joined-up geospatial technologies to bring locational data alive.
- City based offices, with excellent transport links and surrounding area includes shops/café/parking train station.
We'd love to hear from you if you have ...
- Relevant technical qualification in Surveying or a related discipline (Degree or HND), with significant experience in a similar role.
- Membership of a recognised professional body (such as RICS or CICES) would be advantageous.
- Demonstrate an understanding of project management principles, commercial considerations, health, safety & wellbeing, and project delivery requirements.
- Proficient in the operation of surveying equipment, including Total Stations, GNSS systems, and terrestrial laser scanners.
- Experienced in the use of industry-standard software, including N4ce, Trimble Business Centre (TBC), Leica Cyclone, and AutoCAD.
- Experience in planning, managing, and piloting UAV surveys; holding a General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC) would be advantageous.
- Experience in delivering Buried Services Surveys would be beneficial, although not essential.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with organisational and self-management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and mentor junior surveyors and technical staff.
- The ability to travel UK‑wide on a regular basis is essential for this role.
