A little more about your role … To support our high workload in the civil and bridges teams, we require a proficient Principal BIM Modeller with extensive experience in Bentley software on civil and bridge engineering projects who is eager and committed to developing their career in a 3D BIM environment. As a Principal Modeller, you'll lead the production of 3D models and drawings for a range of clients including HS2, Network Rail, National Highways, local authorities and contractors.
A typical week would include:
- 3D Model production, including data and drawing delivery
- Collaboration and coordination with other teams for clash detection checks
- Compliance with the BIM content standards, execution plan and project workflow
- Performing CAD quality checks on all drawings and references
- Planning, monitoring and development of required outputs
- Developing junior members of the team and mentoring
- Leading project deliverables with the project team
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Extensive industry experience, specific to civil structures and bridge design
- A passion for digital, BIM technology and delivery and continuous improvement
- Good communication, client handling and interpersonal skills plus a willingness to adapt to new challenges and to actively participate in the development of others
- Experience in leading teams and delivery
- Experience in 3D modelling, design coordination and delivery using a range of Bentley software packages on civils/ bridges projects
- Ability to set up project seed files, template files, custom worksets and cells
- Strong ability in engineering drawing preparation, construction detailing, including preparation of reinforcement detailing and schedules
- Ability to challenge and contribute to engineering detailing
- Experience working with EDMS solutions such as Bentley Projectwise, Autodesk BIM360 etc.
- Experience in coordinating inter-disciplinary information in a 3D environment
- Working knowledge of BIM standards such as PAS 1192 and BS EN ISO 19650
- HNC/HND/Degree in engineering or associated engineering field
