A little more about your role: This position will be responsible for working on a range of Onshore Wind, PV and BESS projects throughout the EIA, design and construction phases. WSP take on the role as Owners Engineer / Technical Advisor on many renewable projects in the UK. Your role will include design review and site supervision duties and will include carrying out the below typical tasks on site:
- Carry out construction phase inspections, including foundation pre-pour inspections and post-pour inspections.
- Assisting with project administration tasks such as client meetings, progress reporting and technical queries.
- Reviewing BoP contractor’s civil infrastructure designs (tracks, hardstands, foundations, control buildings, etc).
- Contribution to H&S management, including review of RAMS and other construction documents such as Construction Environmental Management Plans or Traffic Management Plans.
- Managing construction project quality assurance and document control across multiple projects.
- Support to the Project Managers on contract payments and variations.
Other day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Working with other team members to develop 2D / 3D wind farm layouts using InfraWorks and AutoCAD.
- Assisting with internal project management tasks such as forecasting, invoicing and resourcing.
- Developing proposals and bids for onshore wind projects and contributing to multi-disciplinary proposals.
Your team: The UK Renewables team provides services to Clients from inception through development, construction, operation, and decommissioning. An approach that sees us support our clients over the entire life-cycle of a project. Our team’s expertise covers all onshore wind, solar and BESS opportunities in the UK. Working together with private developers, government bodies, banks, lending agencies, contractors and OEMs, we safely deliver projects whilst meeting and exceeding client expectations. Our teams are strategically placed all over the UK to support operations in the UK, Ireland and Europe. We also work internationally with our clients and other Energy sector teams in North America, Middle East, Africa, South America, Asia, New Zealand and Australia.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate:
- Civil Engineering qualification.
- Are chartered, or working towards chartered status with the ICE.
- Have experience of design and construction in renewable projects.
- Have a basic understanding of GIS, InfraWorks and AutoCAD software.
- Have some combined site experience with knowledge of CDM Regulations, health and safety, general on-site civil construction experience and reinforcement detailing and checking.
- SMSTS or NEC4 Supervision accreditation is preferred but not required (training will be given).
- Are willing to travel all over the UK, potentially for continuous extended periods whilst undertaking site supervision duties.
- Ability to travel across the UK.
