About your role

WSP's Transport Planning & Mobility team is growing, and we are now looking for a Senior or Principal Transport Planner to support our growing range of projects across the Energy sector. At WSP, we are shaping the future of energy in the UK and supporting the Government's commitment to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Working at the forefront of the transition from fossil fuels to a cleaner, smarter and more resilient energy system, our teams are helping to meet the country's rapidly growing demand for secure, sustainable power. Our engineers, planners, environmental specialists, programme managers and technical experts are delivering some of the UK's most significant energy projects across nuclear, onshore and offshore wind, solar and battery storage, hydrogen and carbon capture. Alongside this, we lead major, long‑term programmes to transform the electricity and gas networks that power homes, businesses and communities nationwide.

With experience across more than 70 Development Consent Order (DCO) and Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs), we bring unrivalled expertise to securing consented schemes that are both deliverable and investable. Our Transport & Mobility teams play a critical role across the full project lifecycle, from early planning and consenting through to design, construction and operation, ensuring schemes work effectively, impacts are minimised, and real benefits are realised for local communities and businesses. At WSP, you won't just work on projects. You'll help deliver the energy system that powers the UK's future.

Preferred locations for this role are Birmingham, Cambridge, Cardiff, Edinburgh, London, Newcastle or Southampton.
