A little more about your role:

You will lead and support a multidisciplinary team of CAD technicians and designers, helping them develop into a capability that contributes directly to:

  • Plant layout and equipment arrangement
  • Integrated 2D/3D design delivery
  • Modularisation and constructability
  • Digital engineering and BIM workflows

Working alongside engineering, project and delivery teams, you will help ensure that designs are coordinated, practical to build, and aligned with modern digital approaches.

What you’ll be responsible for:

Developing a Design Capability

  • Lead and support a team of CAD technicians and designers
  • Create clear development pathways from drawing production to design ownership
  • Help build capability through coaching, recruitment and team development

Plant Layout & Design Delivery

  • Contribute to the development of plant layouts, general arrangements and spatial coordination
  • Ensure designs align with engineering intent and support safe construction and operation
  • Embed Safety in Design, including access, maintainability and constructability considerations

Modularisation & Buildability

  • Support the integration of modular and offsite construction approaches
  • Work with engineering and delivery teams to improve buildability, safety and programme outcomes

Digital Engineering

  • Develop and maintain CAD/BIM standards, tools and workflows
  • Support delivery of accurate, coordinated models and data aligned to project requirements
  • Contribute to digital and data-driven design approaches

Project Delivery

  • Work with project teams to plan workload and deploy design resources
  • Support delivery of design packages in line with programme and quality expectations
  • Help identify and resolve delivery or capability challenges early

What we’re looking for you to demonstrate:

We’re interested in hearing from people with experience in:

  • CAD, design or layout roles within engineering, EPC or consultancy environments
  • Plant layout, piping, mechanical or related disciplines
  • Multidisciplinary design coordination
  • Digital design tools such as Autodesk platforms (Plant 3D, Revit, Navisworks or similar)
  • BIM, digital workflows or data-driven design approaches

Experience in modularisation or constructability is beneficial, but not essential.
