A little more about your role…
Our Strategic Asset Management team is growing, working across sectors providing advisory and consultancy services to road, rail, aviation, local government and energy clients. As a Technical Director in Asset Intelligence, you will help clients make timely, evidence-based and value-focused decisions across the asset lifecycle. You will combine asset data, analysis, engineering knowledge and decision-support processes to understand performance and risk, anticipate outcomes and identify effective interventions. Working with multidisciplinary teams, you will define asset intelligence strategies, assess current capabilities, develop improvement roadmaps and implement integrated solutions spanning information management, analytics, forecasting, reporting and digital systems to improve planning and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess client maturity across asset data, analytics, systems, governance, people and decision processes.
- Lead the development of asset intelligence strategies and implementation roadmaps.
- Translate asset management and business needs into clear information, analytical and technology requirements.
- Integrate asset, condition, performance, cost, maintenance and risk data to support decision-making.
- Lead the development of dashboards, risk and forecasting models and decision-support solutions.
- Embed asset intelligence into lifecycle planning, investment prioritisation, maintenance and operational processes.
- Advise clients on data quality, information governance, asset information requirements and system integration.
- Manage consulting assignments, ensuring high-quality delivery on time and within budget.
- Build client relationships, support business development and develop WSP’s asset intelligence capability.
- Mentor and develop a team of consultants, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture and ensuring all safety, health and well-being (SH&W) requirements are met.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
- Significant experience in asset management, asset information, infrastructure analytics,digital asset management and lifecycle decision-making.
- Knowledge of asset performance, risk-based planning, investment prioritisation and whole-life value.
- Experience working with asset, condition, performance, maintenance, cost, risk and geospatial data.
- Understanding of data governance, information quality, metadata and information assurance.
- Experience with forecasting, scenario analysis, deterioration modelling, risk modelling or optimisation.
- A strong expertise in ISO 55000, asset lifecycle planning, investment planning, risk-based asset management strategies and digital transformation in asset management.
- Leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage large-scale, high-impact projects and advise senior leadership.
- Excellent communication skills to convey new concepts and ideas to technical and non-technical colleagues effectively, both verbally and in writing, including in presentations.
- Experience of working with asset data systems, including configuring or specifying EAM, CMMS and DSTs.
- Strong project management skills, having delivered tasks or projects that include planning, managing and completing deliverables.
- A strong network within the transportation, highways, or broader infrastructure industry.
- Professional registration, such as being Chartered or Incorporated.
- A desire to work and collaborate in a variety of styles: in large teams, small teams and independently; both online and in person.
- A BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
