Do you excel in communication, leadership, and goal orientation? If so, your skills are a perfect match for our Senior Business Support Team Leader role. You’ll be responsible for a team of Business Support Administrators located across different offices, so you will put your proactive people skills to great use.
A little more about your role… This is an exciting and varied role, with no two days the same so you could be expected (but not restricted) to:
- Data management and proactively overseeing the workload of the team to avoid any disruption to the service.
- Anticipating and responding to ensure the team is adequately resourced.
- Identifying and carrying out training, inductions, meaningful Personal Development Reviews, mentoring and coaching of your team.
- Driving operational excellence through supporting simplification and continuous improvement across Business Admin.
- Supporting the Deputy Head of Business Administration with the implementation of service Level Agreements ensuring that activities are completed in accordance with WSP procedures and guidelines.
- Ensuring that administration staff adhere and are kept up to date with relevant policies and procedures as well as technology and system changes to deliver an outstanding client experience.
- Supporting the Deputy Head of Business Admin with employee relations matters across the team.
- Driving key initiatives and projects across Business Admin and the wider business, utilising effective change management to successfully drive change.
- Maintaining regular engagement with stakeholders to promote Business Support services.
- Identifying potential opportunities to increase the profitability of the team.

Your team... The UK Business Administration team is the backbone of the UK WSP business and is key to the smooth running of the business. With clearly defined career pathways and exciting opportunities to develop, the team is made up of a Business Support team consisting of Business and Project Support, Document and Accessibility specialists, Graphics and Concierge. We also have a Personal Assistant network providing support to our senior directors. You will be able to meet your colleagues and share tips and best practice, proactively contribute to ensuring a safe and healthy working environment and get involved in new initiatives and ideas.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate...
- Proven experience in managing and leading teams, with direct line management experience.
- Extensive experience in delivering a high-quality business administration service in a demanding and pressurised environment.
- Previous experience in similar roles considered.
- Effective collaborator, able to drive and lead key projects.
- Inspires, motivates, encourages and influences others.
- Ability to plan, problem solve and use own initiative.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- 10 GCSE's or equivalent including Maths and English.
- Fully conversant to an advanced level in Microsoft 365, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel. (Any knowledge and understanding of Adobe InDesign and wider Adobe Creative Apps will be advantageous).
