A little more about your role… The Rail Engineering Services (RES) team within WSP’s Rail division are actively seeking a BIM Coordinator to lead MEP delivery of our diverse portfolio of multidisciplinary Rail Engineering projects. We are looking for people with the ability to make a difference, pro-actively manage requirements and risks and influence others to deliver successfully. Candidates must have excellent communication, problem solving and demonstrable experience in engineering management within Rail.
As a BIM Coordinator you will…
- Provide support at a project level assembling baseline existing design information models and discipline specific template design coordination models.
- Support the Technical Discipline Leads with enhancing their design processes that maximise structured information exchange across multiple software platforms and systems.
- Provide support to the engineering discipline teams in the production of their 3D modelling outputs as required, mentoring and upskilling technical staff if requested to do so.
A little more about your team… You will join a team of professionally qualified, diverse, talented individuals who collaborate to:
- Undertake project work from across the design lifecycle, including early concept stage to detail design.
- Deliver projects for Network Rail, HS2, Transport for The North, TfGM, Nexus, Local Authorities, Principal Contractors and Private Developers.
Reporting to a senior member of our rail engineering services team, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting and challenging multi-disciplinary rail projects around. This is a fantastic opportunity to join WSP as part of an expanding team delivering a variety of prestigious projects. The role could be based in one of our Central London offices. Our office provides a quality, flexible and dynamic working space focused on the health and wellbeing of our staff and benefits from cutting-edge design, large amounts of natural light, large open spaces, collaborative working spaces.
What we would look for you to demonstrate…
- Either an Engineering qualification (HND or similar preferred) or possess appropriate experience working on infrastructure design projects, preferably at tender and detailed design stages.
- Industry recognised CAD / BIM software certification.
- Proficiency in the use of 3D design through the use of Bentley AECOsim V8i.
- Proficiency in the use of Bentley ProjectWise V8i for data management purposes and a working knowledge of Bentley eB for document management.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including writing macros to undertake complex or repetitive calculations, look-up and pivot tables, etc. Experience of VBA would be advantageous.
- Working knowledge of other Microsoft Office software packages.
