A little more about your role...
To successfully align cloud solutions with business objectives, our Azure Architect must have strong leadership and communication skills, and a passion for environmental and sustainability issues. Your leadership skills will be important for steering the overall process of shaping secure, scalable and efficient Azure architectures, selecting appropriate services and platforms, and guiding delivery teams through well-articulated technical design decisions.
You’ll be expected to embrace and adopt emerging AI and agentic AI capabilities, actively considering how they can be responsibly embedded into solution design, delivery practices and product development to improve efficiency, quality and innovation. You'll be experienced and comfortable in a customer facing and commercially orientated role. Your eye for detail means you'll recognise inefficiency and risk and have the drive to recommend and implement improvements whilst working under pressure and to tight timescales.
You’ll have an interest in emerging AI and agentic AI technologies, with a willingness to adopt new tools and approaches that improve productivity, technical quality and the delivery of innovative Azure-based solutions.
What you'll be doing
You'll be joining the business and lead on the Azure architectural design of both bespoke software projects as well as innovative product development ideas with opportunities to shape the cloud architectural approach for a variety of opportunities and technically challenging work on a global scale. In addition, you’ll develop your Azure DevOps skills, building pipelines and automations required to support the development teams increase their efficiency. Working with product owners, and delivery teams you’ll embed repeatable DevOps ways of working, including infrastructure-as-code, pipeline governance and automated deployment approaches that enable secure, efficient and reliable delivery into Azure environments.
You'll also provide Azure concepts within a business development context as well as for prospective client bids. You'll also be competent supporting our business consultants by providing a broad range of technical and strategic inputs whilst playing an important technical leadership role for the business.
You will be providing high-level and low-level technical designs with the gravitas to support your ideas. As such, the role encompasses pre-sales and delivery,
- Work with the delivery leads to mobilise Azure projects efficiently in an iterative manner - the process requires regular feedback, adjustments, and problem-solving to properly design and implement potential solutions.
- Work across technologies to implement Pipelines for the development teams
- Evaluating business needs and determining how Digital Services can support those needs by leveraging Azure software, data, integration and infrastructure capabilities.
- Align Azure strategy with business goals, helping to determine, develop and improve technical solutions in support of business goals, including approaches to migration, modernisation and refactoring of legacy projects.
