WSP is an international leader in Intelligent Infrastructure (II) with a strong track record of applying leading-edge lighting, information and communication technologies to optimise efficiency, safety and customer experience.

The Lighting and Energy Solutions (L&ES) group of II provides comprehensive lighting and electrical engineering design and advisory services for all aspects of light, lighting and low-voltage energy. We work with clients across public and private sectors, locally and internationally.

The team are located across the UK and our key locations include: Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Hertfordshire, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle and Southampton

The L&ES group specialises in six discipline areas:

Architectural Lighting: Providing specialist design solutions that are fully integrated within the architecture and, create spaces that are beautiful, comfortable, and inspiring.

Electrical & EV: We provide a comprehensive design and advisory consultancy service for all types of lighting / sign installations, plus electric vehicle charge points and market trader facilities.

Environmental Lighting: Obtrusive lighting advice to assist clients in making informed decisions to reduce the environmental impact of lighting from initial concept through to maintenance.

Local Government: Supporting clients with the delivery of daily activities including all aspects of design, smart space application, technical report development and asset management.

Strategic Road Network: Connecting the UK\’s highways requires in-depth knowledge from initial network appraisal, survey support, optioneering, design, operation and management.

Technical Excellence: Providing specialist advice and support to facilitate sustainable and resilient change through research, policy, Future Ready and Expert Witness services.

A technical background with relevant qualifications and / or experience in any of the areas listed above, including:

  • Experiences in working on high-quality consultancy-style lighting projects aligned with one of the areas described above
  • A proven ability to analyse and interpret information from various sources and communicate your findings effectively.
  • Experience working either as a client, consultant or contractor, ideally within a transport, public sector, or high-risk environment
