A Little More About Your Role…
Our Project Planning (P6) Engineers/Managers provide essential consultancy skills and specific Planning & Scheduling expertise, which help our clients deliver their key infrastructure projects. If you are interested in developing and growing your future career path in WSP, whilst working on exciting multi-sector projects, we would really like to hear from you.
- To lead, manage and deliver the planning & scheduling requirements on one or more projects, workstreams or a major infrastructure programme.
- As a planning lead within a project team, ensuring that functional disciplines contribute to the planning & scheduling process, understand the critical path, float analysis, the application of EVM, and the assessment of schedule progress and forecast dates.
- Developing integrated schedules, utilising scope information, schedule dependencies and project control information from multiple information sources.
- Work collaboratively with the responsibility for the effective communication and presentation of technical schedule information to a range of stakeholder audiences.
- In parallel with project work you’ll support major bids, collaborate with clients on their future project requirements and contribute to business growth initiatives.
- Mentoring of staff and people management opportunities for some specific roles.
- Hybrid working at offices for a minimum of 3 days a week to fully collaborate with client and WSP project teams.
Your Team
You will be part of our wider Project Management and Commercial Management Team (PMCM), made up of over 400 professionals across the UK and sit within our Programme Solutions Group. Your future development will be actively supported through development conversations and with access to WSP’s full range of training, development tools and resources. Planning & Scheduling is part of the wider Programme Solutions service line which comprises the disciplines of Project Controls, Risk Management, PMO and Digital services.
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate…
- A track-record of planning & scheduling in one or more key industry sectors for example: Energy, Water, Rail, Buildings, Defence.
- The skills and experience to collaborate and communicate with clients, partners and design teams in detailed planning discussions and leading workshops.
- Offer one or more specialist key Planning skills for example: Integrated Master Schedules, Delay/Forensic Schedule Analysis techniques, the definition of best-practice standards & processes, BIM Planning.
- Developing and managing project/programme schedules from first principles using Oracle Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and other scheduling software.
- Project lifecycle schedule development experience (Design, Statutory Planning Consents, Procurement, Commissioning and Construction) and rolling-wave planning.
- Resource/cost loading of schedules and combined and the application of EVM.
- Familiarity with NEC programme clauses, the assessment of CEs and what-if scenarios.
- An attention to detail with the ability to produce a programme narrative, a basis of schedule and a plan on a page.
- Hold a relevant degree in an engineering or construction related discipline, similar higher education and an appropriate project management /APM qualification/membership.
