A little bit more about your role: The Project Manager is the first point of contact for the client in relation to delivery and execution of operational, commercial, and contractual matters. We are a global ISO 17020 “Type C” Inspection Body with a proud 40-year history of providing quality consultancy, audit, advisory services, and manufacturing assurance to the Energy, Industrial and Transportation sectors. Our services include oversight of asset maintenance, manufacturing assurance of new and refurbished power plants, nuclear, offshore wind, hydro, thermal power, solar and battery storage equipment, supported by an infrastructure of Subject Matter Experts.
In this role you will:
- Manage and coordinate project finance and invoices.
- Liaise with Client and external parties.
- Ensure resources allocated to projects are competent and efficiently mobilised.
- Ensure supplied services achieve defined requirements.
- Prepare estimates of time and expenses required to carry out assignments.
- Review and suggest improvements to contractor documentation.
- Monitor and measure project performance.
- Maintain information contained within the Quality and Inspection Services (QIS) resource planner, and risk and change registers.
- Review output from Quality and Inspection Services (QIS) activities, including quality reports.
The role may be required to deputise for the Quality and Inspection Services (QIS) Head of Projects. For further information, refer to WSP UK BMS document MCHS020 for details of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing competencies, roles and responsibilities for the Project Manager.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate:
- Line management of Quality Surveillance Engineers (QSE’s) and Assistant Project Managers (APM’s).
- Support the WSP Energy proposals team by providing input to prequalification documents, tender documents, bid clarifications and technical queries.
- The role may be required to undertake responsibilities in the role of Quality Surveillance Engineer (QSE), where competence requirements are satisfied.
Qualifications: Recognised qualifications in a relevant discipline (minimum of HNC level, or equivalent). A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a project management, quality, engineering role in a manufacturing, testing or project environment. An ability to manage resources effectively and efficiently to deliver projects on time and on budget. The application of governance and commercial control systems such as Agresso/Oracle.
