This is an opportunity to join our Employee Relations team in a full-time permanent position as ER Advisor.
A little more about your role…
- Provide timely, pragmatic, and legally sound first‑line ER advice and hands‑on case management to People Managers across the UK & Ireland.
- The role focuses on proactive risk management, fair and consistent process application—working closely with ER Partners to resolve cases at pace and to build people manager capability through practical guidance and tools.
- Support people managers with a range of ER activities (low to medium risk), including conducting investigations, grievances, disciplinary, performance management, flexible working, and absenteeism.
- Coach people managers and leaders to undertake all day‑to‑day people activities such as return to work interviews, OH referrals, requests for flexible working, managing behaviour and capability, and supporting with letter writing.
- Provide first‑line policy advice and act as a conduit for sharing knowledge, ideas and best practices for our HRSS team.
- Support the Employee Relations Partners with any project work within their respective portfolios, including redundancies, restructures, TUPE, and office moves.
- Be a note taker and support the ER Partner with medium to high‑risk case management, which will also assist you with your own development.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, working with the wider HR team, other support functions within the business and the operational business, to improve ways of working.
- Support the legal team with any DSARs that are received.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
- Strong understanding of UK employment law, ACAS Guidance, and document management.
- Ability to deliver first‑line policy advice and deal with any escalations from the HRSS, which could be generalist queries.
- Excellent organisational skills, able to manage and deliver upon a range of activities, including the ability to prioritise your own workload and strong attention to detail.
- Results driven; proactive, accountable, leads by example with a positive proactive attitude.
- Strong IT skills across the Microsoft Office suite and general HR databases.
- Excellent open and effective two‑way communication (both verbal and written), experience of coaching managers using the GROW model.
