Overview

Join to apply for the Junior Utility Surveyor role at WSP. Based from WSP’s Liverpool and Northwich offices, you will work within a UK-wide team of Buried Services Surveyors, alongside Topographical Surveying, UAV and MBS teams.

Responsibilities

  • Based from WSP’s Liverpool and Northwich office. Work within a UK-wide team of Buried Services Surveyors alongside the Topographical Surveying, UAV and MBS teams.
  • Assist senior surveyors to carry out fieldwork for below-ground utility surveys and drainage surveys.
  • Process survey data, ensuring adherence to WSP standards.

Your Team

  • Surveying Services (UK).
  • Work within a UK-wide team of Surveyors, including Topographical, Measured Building & Buried Services Surveyors and UAV Pilots.
  • Work on surveying projects UK-wide.
  • Varied client base from Local Authorities to Multi-Discipline Consultants.
  • Reporting to the Survey Team Lead.
  • City-based offices with good transport links and nearby amenities.
  • Surveying Services promote the power of joined-up geospatial technologies to bring locational data alive.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate

  • A relevant technical degree/HND in surveying or a related discipline, with experience in a similar role. However, candidates with suitable skills will be considered.
  • Knowledge of assisting with fieldwork for below-ground utility surveys and drainage surveys on varied sites using Electromagnetic and GPR techniques.
  • Experience of working to PAS128 standards, collecting and post-processing GPR data would be advantageous but not essential.
  • An understanding of processing fieldwork, including the production of 2D & 3D CAD drawings and other survey reports would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to communicate unambiguously to the public and team members. Able to operate effectively in all weather conditions, or at night. An understanding of project and commercial considerations.
  • Ability to work effectively alone or as part of a team.
  • The applicant shall have a full UK driving licence as the role will require travel around the country.
