A little more about your role… As a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager at WSP, you will take the lead on managing a variety of interesting highways and infrastructure sector projects for our client in Gloucestershire. You will be joining our team towards the beginning of WSP's long-term professional services contract for Gloucestershire County Council (GCC). Under this collaborative contract we are based in the client’s office, directly supporting our client’s teams, and sharing a set of delivery objectives. This is an exciting time to be joining our team, with GCC having an ambitious programme of projects to maintain and enhance the transport network and boost the economy across the county. WSP provides professional services with a team of highly skilled Project Managers and Directors, we work collaboratively with our client, ensuring efficiency with rigorous attention to detail as a core principle. Your Team: All our Project Managers take on project responsibility from the outset invariably owning their own projects from conception to construction. Your role will be at the heart of our high performing team, using your skills and expertise to help us continue driving forward in terms of both technical quality and service efficiency.
Your role will be a varied one, but responsibilities will include:
- Own and lead the project management process, encouraging our teams to deliver the right solutions to the agreed programme and support those less experienced by reviewing their work and mentoring.
- Prioritising client satisfaction through building and maintaining strong relationships with GCC, whilst forming trusting relationships with colleagues to ensure effective co-ordination for mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Managing resources effectively (including remote resources) and efficiently to meet fluctuating workloads.
- Working with clients and design teams to deliver compliant designs on time and within budget and meeting H&S, CDM, QA and technical review requirements.
- Developing relationships with other WSP teams to utilise additional resources as required.
- Agreeing fees and managing the commercial position on projects.
- Producing project controls reports to meet client and business requirements.
- Developing, maintaining, and implementing stakeholder management plans.
- Ensuring invoicing and cash collection is undertaken in accordance with business process and procedures.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
- Experience of working within the Civils/Highways sector in either project management and/or business administration and financial planning.
- Experience in managing a range of project management activities, systems (including enterprise resource planning) and processes.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of Construction Design Management 2015 and associated duties.
- Experience in project and resource management with good financial and commercial awareness.
- Knowledge of NEC 4 and qualification desirable.
