Your Team
Work closely with like‑minded individuals on exciting and challenging projects. The Building Services team in the Northern Region (Split across Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh, and Glasgow) consists of more than 50 mechanical, electrical, and public health engineers. A Little More About Your Role…
- Have a proven track record in delivering projects for your discipline and in line with client expectations.
- Take responsibility for and direct others in the production of detailed and performance specification for the discipline subject to review by colleagues prior to issue.
- Review design programmes and ensure sufficient resources are available to complete works in line with technical and commercial performance and delivery.
- Work using initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of your discipline or have specific specialist experience applicable to the role.
- Supervise the completion of detailed designs and supervise the work of others in this function.
- Consider the feasibility of the project specific to the discipline and lead the overall feasibility study for the project.
- Training and mentoring of staff.
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate…
- A proven track record of delivering a variety of projects both in terms of scale and sector.
- Ability to engage with clients, contractors and design team members in technical discussions, coordination, and debates.
- Ability to sketch and communicate technical detail graphically and effectively to construction professionals and client teams.
- Detailed understanding of regulations applicable to the discipline and how to demonstrate this through calculation.
- Working understanding of latest mechanical design software packages to allow allocation/direction of work on projects.
- Must be able to obtain UK vetting level of Security Check (SC).

- Working knowledge of Hevacomp
- U value calculations
- Heat loss & gain calculations
- Pipe sizing (LTHW, CHW, HWS, CWS etc), pump sizing, duct sizing, fan sizing
- Psychrometrics
- Control valve sizing & authority
- Thermal modelling
- BMS systems
Qualifications
- CIBSE/IET/IMechE Engineering Council accredited honours degree or specific experience that will lead to Chartership
- IES or TAS training applied to the discipline
- Revit MEP training applied to the discipline
- Achieved or working towards IEng or CEng status
- BEng/Bsc/MEng in applicable engineering discipline
