An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Architect with technical skills and experience in the Data Centre and Mission Critical sectors to be based in the Glasgow office and become an integral part of our expanding Architectural team at ESA Architecture. The Architect is responsible for leading specific aspects of the project and project team to assist in the overall effort of completing the various phases of the project.

Job Responsibilities
  • Under direction of the Project Lead or a more senior project leader, develops, modifies, and reviews drawings ensuring the incorporation of design intent.
  • Duties may include the development and implementation of project design concepts, project modelling, developing sketches, conducting research and data collection, preparing presentations and reports, and general production of design and construction documents.
  • Works on multiple projects, providing concepts and techniques in ways that may explore new ways of achieving design solutions, completing tasks within established deadlines and budgets, and effectively utilizing resources to address project requirements.
  • Interacts with clients and consultants, participates on project development, and presents ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Prepares, manages, and modifies architectural documents, elevations, sections, and details, as directed by others in the project team, following standards and archiving documents as appropriate.
  • Develops solutions to technical and design problems following established design standards.
  • May assist in the development of project scope, plans, and services during the contract process.
  • Prepares 2D and 3D presentations, design drawings and renderings.
  • Compiles data and performs fundamental design computations.
  • Performs product research and may assist Project Designers and Project Architects with materials selection and system research.
  • Incorporates Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate
  • People Management
    • Able to manage junior colleagues and provide guidance and support where necessary.
    • Manage design tasks and deliverables and report on progress against the design programme to the project lead. Report on the progress and risks associated with the programme.
    • Follow company values and exhibit appropriate behaviours.
    • Manage time efficiently and assist/input into team meetings to review design programme.
  • Business & Financial
    • Support the Project Lead in developing the project execution plan, including financial planning, and forecasting resource.
    • Input on the project programming and financial planning.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in the data centre / construction / architectural industry.
  • Must be a qualified Architect.
  • Working knowledge of UK building regulations and national standards.
  • Working capability and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Technical design knowledge/skills in UK construction methodology.
  • Experience of working as part of an architectural design team managing and delivering Tender and Construction Stage works packages.
  • Have an ability to sketch and communicate technical detail graphically and effectively.
  • Must be able to obtain UK vetting level of Security Check (SC).
