We are looking to appoint Senior or Principal Highway Engineers to the Liveable Places team in various UK locations, including Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Guildford, Leeds, London, Reading and Southampton. Flexible working arrangements are available.

As a Senior or Principal Engineer you will be responsible for design and project management of sustainable transport and public realm improvement projects. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Design Management: Oversee the complete design process, ensuring high standards and client satisfaction, coordinate with other departments, and deliver on time and within budget.
  • Project Management: Plan, schedule, budget and allocate resources for multiple projects; ensure milestones are met and projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Client Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for clients, keeping them informed of progress and addressing their needs.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks; quickly resolve issues that arise.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain rigorous quality standards for all design work and resolve issues promptly.
  • Mentoring: Support and mentor team members, including Early Careers Professionals.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in design management and project management.
  • Knowledge and experience delivering multi-disciplinary schemes across the project life cycle with a proven ability to act as Project Manager.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to report to senior level.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading design projects from inception to completion.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
