A little more about your role…

Our Project Planning Engineers provide professional Planning & Scheduling expertise and consultancy skills to help our clients deliver their key infrastructure projects. If you are interested in developing and growing your future career in WSP, we would really like to hear from you.

  • To lead, manage and deliver the planning & scheduling service on one or more projects, workstreams for a major infrastructure programme.
  • Working collaboratively with the responsibility for the effective communication and presentation of technical schedule information to a range of stakeholder audiences.
  • Development of integrated schedules, utilising scope information, schedule dependencies and project control information from multiple information sources.
  • Engaging with functional disciplines to develop the critical path, float analysis, the application of EVM, and the assessment of schedule progress.
  • Hybrid working at offices for a minimum of 3 days a week to fully collaborate with client and WSP project teams.

Your Team

You will be part of our wider Project Management and Commercial Management Team (PMCM), made up of over 500 professionals across the UK and sit within our Programme Solutions Group. Your career will be actively supported through development conversations and with access to WSP’s career development tools and resources. Planning & Scheduling is part of the wider Programme Solutions service line which comprises the disciplines of Project Controls, Risk Management, PMO and Digital services.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…

  • A track-record of planning & scheduling in the Defence sector.
  • The skills and experience to collaborate and communicate as part of an integrated client project team.
  • Development of project/programme schedules from first principles using industry recognised planning and scheduling tools.
  • Project lifecycle schedule development experience (Design, Statutory Planning Consents, Procurement, Commissioning and Construction) and rolling-wave planning.
  • Familiarity with NEC programme requirements, the assessment of CE’s and what-if scenarios.
  • An attention to detail to produce a programme narrative, a basis of schedule and a plan on a page.
  • Hold a relevant degree in an engineering or construction related discipline, similar higher education and an appropriate project management /APM qualification/membership.
  • Must be able to work in the UK without restrictions in accordance with UK National Law and be prepared to successfully undertake SC level clearance of UK National Security Vetting according to UK Government National Security Vetting criteria.
