A little more about your role…

Operational Excellence is one of the key strategic cornerstones which underpins our business, ensuring we are sustainable, profitable, and strategic. As a WSP Data Scientist, you will sit within our Data & Digital Advisory (DDA) group as part of our cutting-edge Data & Decision Science technical delivery team. You will work on a range of customer-facing projects delivering data-driven insights and advanced digital solutions to help our customers transform their businesses. You will work flexibly within an established team, providing a high level of knowledge and skill in data science and Artificial Intelligence and will be responsible for the delivery of customer projects across a range of customer sectors.

Reporting to our senior Data Scientists, you will assist in delivering client projects to budget, timeframe, and quality targets. You will be expected to deliver safe, ethical, and reliable solutions whilst also showing initiative and a flair for innovation and helping to transform the sectors we work in.

This role is the result of growth in our Data & Decision Science consultancy business and increasing interest in and appetite for AI-driven solutions from our clients. We are seeking to build upon our existing high-performing team and expand our capacity to deliver what we foresee to be an explosion in demand for our services.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…

  • Data science skills and experience, preferably applied to real-world problems.
  • Ability to talk to clients and explain complex concepts in an easy to understand way.
  • A degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Self-motivated with ability to innovate.
  • Expertise in Python/R, PowerBI, SQL and other Data Science tooling.
  • Experience in the application of AI to real-world problems.
