A little more about your role:
- Provide general commercial advice, support and assurance to the Discipline at all stages of the contract lifecycle, including guidance on WSP governance requirements.
- Commercial lead on strategic bids.
- Ensure that bids are properly reviewed in line with WSP governance requirements.
- Liaise with the Legal, Tax and Ethics & Compliance teams to ensure that proposed contractual arrangements are reviewed, and risks identified and mitigated.
- Work closely with bid modellers to ensure that our bids are priced in accordance with the client instructions, reflect WSP margin expectations, and include suitable contingencies where appropriate.
- Ensure that sub-consultancy and collaboration agreements are in place for WSP appointments and the supply chain.
- Review and drafting of contractual documents such as NDA, MOU and Teaming Agreements.
- Support and facilitation of contract handovers including development and briefing to project directors on contract management plans for strategic wins.
- Co-ordinate the drafting of sub-consultancy agreements (ensuring back-to-back and apportioning risk).
- Participate in project reviews and support on contractual/commercial matters.
- Support the annual renewal of insurance certificates & policies.
- Raise commercial awareness and performance in the Discipline through regular feedback, meetings and training.
- Review and implement improvements to processes and systems.
- Advise on Client and supply chain insolvency, administration, and any other financial distress.
- Manage Watch List items for the Discipline and actively support on dispute avoidance, dispute resolution, claims and working capital recovery.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate:
- Degree qualified and preferred membership of a relevant professional body is required (MICE/ MCIPS MRICS/MCIOB/).
- Significant relevant experience within a similar role.
- Experience in public sector contracts in the UK preferred including Public Sector Procurement regulations (PCR15).
- Experienced in the use of standard forms of contract.
- Excellent communication skills.
