A little bit more about your role:
As a Civil Engineer within the renewables team, you will focus on the technical and project delivery of a range of onshore wind, PV and BESS projects throughout the EIA, design and construction phases.
Your duties will include:
- Working with other team members to develop 2D / 3D site layouts using GIS, InfraWorks and AutoCAD.
- Assisting with internal project management tasks such as forecasting, invoicing and resourcing.
- Developing proposals and bids for onshore wind projects and contributing to multi-disciplinary proposals.
WSP frequently acts as the Owner’s Engineer / Technical Advisor on a wide range of renewable energy projects across the UK. As part of this role you may also be required to undertake Site Supervisor / Engineer responsibilities. These duties typically involve working on-site during the week for extended periods. Your responsibilities as a Site Supervisor / Engineer will include:
- Carry out construction phase inspections, including foundation pre-pour inspections and post-pour inspections
- Assisting with project administration tasks such as client meetings, progress reporting and technical queries.
- Reviewing BoP contractor’s civil infrastructure designs (tracks, hardstands, foundations, control buildings, etc).
- Contribution to H&S management, including review of RAMS and other construction documents such as a Construction Environmental Management Plans or Traffic Management Plans.
- Managing construction project quality assurance and document control across multiple projects.
YOUR TEAM

We have established client relationships with some of the largest and most well-known developers, investors, and lenders in the industry, and we support their projects across the globe.
Delivering high-quality, proactive, prompt and up-to-date technical services to our clients is paramount. We offer services at all stages of the project lifecycle, with a particular focus on the following core services:
- Site layouts and optimisation, concept design and feasibility studies,
- Technical due diligence,
- Lender’s Technical Advisor (LTA) scopes of work,
- Project development and Owner’s Engineer (OE) scopes of work, including tendering and contracting support, construction monitoring and management, and technical advisory services.
- Hybrid Projects (including BESS) and BESS Capacity and Power Optimisations
- Operation & Maintenance and Asset Management
We\’d love to hear from you if you if you:
- Have a Civil Engineering qualification
- Are working towards chartered status with the ICE
- Have some experience of steel, concrete, timber and masonry design
- Have a basic understanding of GIS, InfraWorks and AutoCAD software
- Have some site experience with knowledge of health and safety, general on-site civil construction experience and reinforcement detailing and checking.
- Are willing to travel all over the UK, potentially for continuous extended periods whilst undertaking Site Supervision duties
- Have a full UK driving license
