A little more about your role… As Revenue & Billing Assistant you will support the Senior Revenue Controller and the wider Business Rates team to deliver accurate, timely and well‑controlled billing across all revenue streams. This role will give you broad exposure across the full revenue cycle – from calculating fees and updating trackers, through to obtaining authorisations/POs, preparing invoices and liaising with fee earners and third‑party agents. The role is deliberately flexible: over time you will be trained to support different contracts and processes rather than being tied to a single narrow stream. You will not have direct line management responsibilities, but you will play an important part in team‑based working, cross‑cover and maintaining consistent standards across the revenue function.

You’ll play a key part in supporting our billing and revenue processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across client invoicing and related financial activities. This includes preparing and updating billing information, assisting with fee calculations, and helping the team meet monthly targets. You’ll also manage purchase orders and third‑party costs, liaising with suppliers and agents to resolve queries and keep records up to date. Maintaining data quality in our systems is essential, as you’ll ensure client and billing details are accurate and aligned with agreed arrangements. In addition, you’ll follow established processes and controls, provide cross‑team support during busy periods, and contribute to improving workflows. This role is ideal for someone detail‑oriented, organised, and keen to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.

Your team as follows: The Rating team at WSP GL Hearn is a highly skilled and specialised group, dedicated to providing exceptional Rating and Valuation services to clients in the commercial real estate sector. With an in-depth understanding of the complex rating landscape, our team combines extensive industry knowledge with strategic insights to deliver accurate and insightful assessments. We pride ourselves on our ability to navigate changing regulations and market conditions, providing clients with the expertise they need to optimise their property portfolios and minimise their tax liabilities. With a proven track record of excellence and a commitment to delivering results, the Rating team at WSP GL Hearn is the trusted partner that clients turn to for comprehensive and reliable rating services.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…

  • Some experience in an office, finance or administration role – ideally involving working with numbers or data.
  • Confidence using Excel for everyday tasks (e.g. basic formulas, filters and checks); experience with lookups or pivot tables is an advantage but not a requirement.
  • Good general IT skills, including Outlook, Word and Excel, and willingness to learn new systems such as GLHIMS.
  • Strong organisational skills – able to manage multiple small tasks, keep notes up to date and follow through on actions.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work produced.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, comfortable liaising with colleagues across the business and external contacts (e.g. joint agents, suppliers).
  • A proactive, curious approach – willing to ask questions, suggest small improvements and take ownership of your own learning.
  • An interest in finance, accounting or data.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to other WSP GL Hearn offices if required.
