A Little More About Your Role…
Our Development team specialises in providing full lifecycle sustainable development infrastructure solutions, from planning through to detailed design and construction. We provide advice to private and public sector clients on planning and design issues relating to Utilities Supplies and Diversions, Highways, Public Realm, Sewerage, SUDS, Building Drainage, Earthworks and Flood Protection for a wide range of projects and clients, which typically include Residential, Sports/ Leisure, Industrial/ Commercial, Educational, Defence and Healthcare Developments in the UK.
As BIM Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our Digital Lead with the implementation of Building Information Modelling (BIM) across current and future Infrastructure and Development projects. You will play a key role in driving digital excellence across all project phases, from planning through to delivery. A core aspect of the role includes collaborating with WSP teams across various global offices to ensure alignment, build capability, and deliver consistent, high‑quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the production, development, maintenance and management of WSP Planning & Development (P&D) Civil 3D templates, parts lists, training and associated guidance documentation.
- Provide leadership and oversee the implementation of agreed BIM training across WSP P&D business aligning with Digital strategy.
- Contribute to and improve working practices in the delivery of BIM.
- Rationalise and manage guidance notes on software add‑in and tools development.
- Develop and support the use of Bentley software where required, e.g., in Highways and Rail sectors.
- Manage training and development for BIM/Technician staff and oversee training for implementation of new technologies.
- Attend industry working groups and workshops to stay abreast of new technologies and keep the business informed of best practices and future innovations.
- Support in the project delivery stage to define project protocols and Ways of Working regarding digital/BIM deliverables.
- Provide operational leadership for the implementation of project protocols on associated digital tools and platforms.
- Develop/Respond to project BIM requirements documentation, ensuring that our technicians (UK and GCC) have adequate understanding of ISO 19650 best practice.
What We’ll Be Looking For You To Demonstrate…
- Proven experience leading BIM implementation across multi‑disciplinary infrastructure or energy projects, including development of BIM Execution Plans and standards aligned with ISO 19650.
- Strong technical expertise in BIM software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Bentley products) with practical knowledge of model coordination, data exchange, and digital workflows.
- Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to manage and support global delivery teams, lead training sessions, and promote digital best practices across diverse teams.
- Strategic mindset with a passion for digital transformation, including driving innovation, process improvement, and automation in project delivery.
- Relevant degree or professional background in engineering, construction or digital design, supported by BIM‑specific training or certifications (e.g., BRE, Autodesk).
