We are looking to recruit a Transport Planner to join our Passenger Transit Group within the Transport Planning & Mobility team working across the UK, with positions advertised in Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds and Newcastle. Hybrid working is available, allowing a mix of in‑office and home work.

Responsibilities

  • Contributing to a variety of projects and proposals (both technical and commercial inputs) and delivering high‑quality outputs in line with client requirements.
  • Bringing your passion and knowledge of Passenger Transit to deliver high quality and effective outcomes for our clients.
  • Working as part of a multi‑disciplinary team; collaborating with other WSP service lines to deliver large multi‑disciplinary projects from concept to delivery.
  • Playing a supporting role in securing and delivering work for our large local client portfolio.
  • Contributing to the financial performance of your projects and the commercial performance of the team.
  • Making an active contribution to WSP's four key pillars (People; Clients & Growth; Operations; and Expertise).

Qualifications and Experience

  • Prior experience in passenger transit and mobility planning and design, and transport data analysis.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the regulatory and legislative environment in which passenger transit services are delivered.
  • Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to clients and colleagues.
  • Experience working with passenger transit clients.
  • Understanding of project management skills developed across a range of transport and multi‑disciplinary projects.
  • Creative, innovative mindset, lateral thinker.
