We are now seeking an inspiring Clients & Growth Lead to drive our business development strategy, deepen our market presence, and play a pivotal role in shaping how WSP delivers nature services for a changing world.
This is a high-impact leadership role ideal for someone with strong industry presence, commercial acumen, and a passion for advancing nature-based approaches within a global consultancy.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Discipline, you will sit on the Nature Services Senior Leadership Team, working closely with Service Line Directors and Sector Leads to drive strategic growth across our portfolio. You will lead and evolve the Clients & Growth strategy, with responsibility for:
- Strategic Growth & Leadership
- Developing and delivering the Business Development Plan for Nature Services aligned to revenue targets.
- Leading the Nature Services Sector Leads to drive growth across priority markets.
- Representing WSP at key industry events and raising the profile of the Nature Services offering.
- Acting as Project Director for major technical and commercial workstreams.
- Client Engagement & Business Development
- Building and nurturing strategic relationships with priority clients.
- Overseeing account planning and client engagement across existing and emerging accounts.
- Supporting the Proposal Management Team from capture planning through to high‑quality bid submission particularly for complex bids over £1M.
- Ensuring high-quality, consistent client care and overseeing feedback loops to drive continuous improvement.
- Pipeline Management & Market Insight
- Monitoring pipeline health and performance; identifying risks, opportunities and market trends.
- Driving best practice in sales pipeline management across the team.
- Building data-driven reporting and communication structures for BD activities.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Upskilling and empowering teams to build trusted‑advisor relationships with clients.
- Building strong internal networks across WSP to integrate Nature Services into wider business opportunities.
- Contributing to a positive, collaborative and inclusive team culture.
This role offers a unique blend of business development, technical project leadership, and people management, with roughly equal time spent across these areas.
About You
We’re looking for a forward thinking, strategic leader with:
- A relevant degree and substantial experience in consulting and/or contracting.
- Chartered membership of a recognised professional body.
- Strong technical, commercial, and organisational skills.
- A proven track record of delivering projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Credibility in the market with an established network across the construction and environmental sectors.
- Experience leading or shaping complex bids exceeding £1M.
