We are seeking an enthusiastic Engineer/Senior Engineer – E&P – Fixed Plant to join our expanding Rail Engineering Services team to lead and support the wider team on the technical delivery for a number of our diverse portfolio of rail engineering projects across the UK and internationally.
In this role you will:
- Lead the Fixed Plant aspects within larger multi-disciplinary technical teams for a number of our projects and support resolution of complex technical problems.
- Oversee and co-ordinate the development of Fixed Plant designs across all stages of the design lifecycle.
- With support from the wider technical team, provide technical advice to both internal company disciplines as well as clients.
- Manage client and stakeholder relationships to achieve desired project outcomes.
- Potential to undertake CRE roles as required in accordance with NR/L2/INI/02009.
- Provide guidance, support and mentorship to Early Career Professionals.
Team and Projects
You will work on projects for a variety of infrastructure owners, national and local governments, public and private sector clients including Network Rail, TfGM, Translink, Iarnród Éireann, regional transport bodies and overseas clients. You will be part of a Fixed Plant Team within our Electrification and Plant (E&P) Service Line, involved in asset renewals and new Fixed Plant infrastructure through all stages of design.
Qualifications
- Experience in delivery of one or more of the areas of expertise listed above.
- Experience across the full project lifecycle from initial feasibility studies to detailed design and implementation.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams, balancing priorities, making value and delivery judgments to meet or exceed client expectations.
- Technical knowledge to challenge individuals and teams on outputs and deliverables.
- A chartered professional, or working towards chartership, with a relevant Institution and a track record of mentoring and developing staff.
- Experience of undertaking CRE roles or the competency to do so.
- Understanding of client engineering assurance processes.
