As a fire engineer, you’ll typically be working on a variety of projects at once—from a University in Scotland to a high-rise residential tower in London, with plenty of international projects. All with the goal of enabling innovative architectural design while maintaining the fire safety of the building. You’ll run through design information, liaise with other WSP disciplines (Facades, Acoustics and Structures), present designs to local authorities and the Fire Service, and help inform the design team about changes that could be made to increase the safety of the building.
You’ll be guided through a variation of software packages, fire standards, team briefings and client updates from the start; we’re a nice bunch and we regularly get together for social events. We will assist the successful candidate toward professional registration via IFE and other professional organisations. At WSP, there is a bespoke programme designed to provide you with both professional skills and specialist technical development opportunities, supported by our senior leadership team.
