We are supporting our clients who are pushing the boundaries of technology to increase productivity and deliver real efficiencies throughout the asset lifecycle including operations, strategy, planning, design, procurement and build stages of their programmes.
Responsibilities
- Advance the adoption of geospatial and ETL technologies across water projects, enabling teams to understand their value and apply GIS to improve the planning, delivery, and efficiency of water, wastewater, and environmental programmes.
- Lead and support multidisciplinary water infrastructure and environmental projects by delivering high‑quality GIS outputs, spatial analysis, and robust data management using ArcGIS Pro and ETL tools, and other Geospatial technologies.
- Champion digital delivery within the water sector through innovative web‑based GIS platforms and applications, leveraging ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise to support asset management, spatial planning, flood risk, and catchment‑scale decision‑making.
- Take ownership of data integrity, managing and validating spatial data captured in‑house and by third parties, including the design and administration of local and enterprise geodatabases for water assets, networks, and environmental datasets.
- Deliver GIS outputs for water projects that meet defined standards, scope, and budget, while consistently achieving high technical quality and strong outcomes for clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners across the water sector to understand operational, regulatory, and environmental requirements and deliver tailored geospatial solutions.
- Actively share knowledge, ideas, and technical innovation to strengthen GIS capability and digital maturity within water-focused teams.
- Help shape efficient, repeatable working practices that enable industry‑leading, best‑value digital and geospatial services for water clients.
- Provide specialist GIS and spatial data expertise across the business, supporting water, wastewater, flood risk, drainage, and environmental services wherever required.
- Maintain a commitment to continuous professional development, staying ahead of emerging digital, geospatial, and data technologies relevant to the evolving water sector.
- Develop new ideas and approaches to improve processes and create value. Generate ideas, involve clients, and collaborate with suppliers and innovators.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate or higher Degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience and qualifications.
- Experience in the use of Desktop GIS packages such as ArcGIS Pro or QGIS, as well as web‑based technologies for creating interactive web maps and applications.
- Configuration of ArcGIS web applications such as Experience Builder, Dashboards, 3D scenes, Survey123, and Field Maps.
- Experience of building automation flows in FME Form (desktop) and publishing workflows using FME Flow (server).
- Appreciation and awareness of a variety of programming languages such as Python, R, SQL & Arcade, visualization, modeling and automation packages and their interoperability.
- Strong understanding of GIS principles and data management.
- Possess strong communication skills to effectively understand team requirements and influence behaviours, fostering a culture of innovation.
- Appreciation of wider digital developments and associated benefits in the water or construction industry.
